In order to enroll on the DSAT Tec Deep Instructor course you have to meet the following prerequisites
- Be a renewed PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer or higher.
- Be a PADI Enriched Air Instructor.
- Be a PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor.
- Be a certified DSAT Tec Deep Diver or have an equivalent certification.
- Have certified a total of ten or more PADI Deep Divers and/or PADI Enriched Air Divers. Any combination of EANx/Deep Diver certifications is acceptable. For example, if the PADI Instructor has three EANx certifications and seven Deep Diver certifications, that meets the requirement.
Description
DSAT Tec Deep Instructor; if you are a PADI Instructor with a background in technical diving then meet the challenge of teaching the DSAT Tec-Rec programs. To qualify as a Tec-Rec Instructor you'll need to assist our DSAT Tec-Rec Instructor Trainer (or another technical Instructor) on a Tec Deep Diver course (or equivalent) and attend an Instructor orientation program. You can sit the theoretical exams under the supervision of our DSAT Tec-Rec Instructor Trainer and save the time and expense of needing to do this at a PADI IE. As long as all other prerequisites have been met you'll qualify to teach the DSAT Tec Deep and Apprentice Tec programs. If you're still lacking the prerequisites that are necessary to qualify as an Instructor then we can customize a Tec-Rec preparatory program that will help you meet the criteria with the most efficient use of time. Technical Diving is not for everyone but to those who are passionate about this specialized area of diving the rewards and career opportunities that come with this training are worth the effort. Course price $1000 and 7 days in duration.
Equipment requirements
Students are expected to have the following though we do have equipment for rental by daily rates.
- 2 back-gas regulators
- 2 stage regulators (1 O2 cleaned)
- 2 Depth gauge/timing device or computer
- 3 SPG's (1 O2 clean)
- Back plate/harness
- Wings (redundant) with at least 20kg/44lb lift
- Exposure suit protection (recommended 5mm to 7 mm full length and hood)
- Slates
- Surgical tubing (2 meters/7ft)
- Clips
- 2 line cutters
- Reel with lift bag/SMB
