Description:
A favorite with divers of all levels, Ted's point has it all. From the shoreline a hard limestone reef flat provides a home for massive brain and mountainous star corals. An infusion of sea fans and other soft corals sway gently in the swells. Clouds of mahogany snappers and grunts circle coral heads as the spur and groove reef formations lead you gently to the reef slope. A large sponge covered rock provides the diver with a choice. Go west and the open sandy bottom descends with an ever-steeping wall.
Go east and the sand gently undulates as a wrecked sailboat appears before you at 60 feet (18 meters). As garden eels dance, graceful Eagle Rays glide by foraging for mollusks and Octopus scurry along the bottom weaving in and out of coral heads. As the slope rises the bottom inter-connects with the reef wall where archways and caverns pierce into the reef crest. Large Green Moray Eels and Snappers call these areas home surrounded by glassy sweepers and silversides reflecting the sunshine penetrating overhead.
